This story was frequently told by my mother Lois, who was Uncle Bill's older sister. When Bill was quite young, his mother Pearl was going to Los Angeles to visit her sister, an extremely rare event. Bill was taken to stay with a relative in Pearl's absence. Wee Bill was quite upset about his mother leaving him. He sat under the dinig room table sobbing and said, "She ALWAYS goes away and she NEVER comes back!"
